Quite possibly the best sushi in town, along with a very comprehensive menu. Excellent staff. You most definitely need to reserve well in advance.

This is the best sushi I have found in Columbus. The restaurant had a classy feel and the service is great. It is also in a unique location because its surrounded by other great Japanese businesses.

For a large party it had exceptional service. Due to having a 20 person party, we did have some food come out a little cold and an entrée came out before appetizers. Food taste was very good and since we pre ordered it came out decently quick. Little on the pricey side but overall experience and atmosphere made it very enjoyable.

Last time was definitely the best. Compelety unique roll with amazing quality. Cannot recommend this enough. Try to make reservations or arrive early, can get rather busy !

Love this place. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. They have a full menu but I usually get their sushi. Best sushi in Columbus in my opinion. If you like sushi, try their spicy scallop role. It's so yummy. It is my favorite role here and I haven't found a similar role anywhere else. Watch the hours as they close for 3 hours between lunch and dinner.

Great atmosphere, the service was phenomenal. Highly recommend to anyone who is a sushi enthusiast! We got the Sushi roll boat and couldn’t have been happier. The simple additions to the most basic rolls made them so much more delectable. Will definitely be going back!

The atmosphere was great. We had sushi and it was really good. The service was great our waitress took care of us really well. It was overall a great experience.

This was recommended as the best sushi in Columbus and I was completely unimpressed. The sushi here is very expensive and none of the 5 specialty rolls we got were anything to write home about. I'd go to Mr. Sushi instead 10/10 times.

We love sushi. They are consistently very good. The service is prompt and the fish are fresh. Very good selection of sake as well. We ordered a family boat of sushi since there were four of us but as usual the variety of sushi and rolls offered are more for the American customers. For more exotic or special offerings be sure to order ala carte. Their specialty rolls are great and many and probably where they tend to shine in creativity. Would we come again? Most definitely.

Food were always great. Making a reservation is necessary in order to be seated in main hall without waiting. Had to sit at bar once when there was one tall sushi chef was ignorant enough to give all my dishes to my boyfriend like excuse me? Their food are fresh. A lot of nigiris are on market price seems varied a lot from each time.

Great service. Food was good for the most part. Some of the rolls had very little taste, but everyone has different standards. Fresh ingredients and excellent presentation.

Been away for so long but this place still slaps.I grew up in Columbus and have always been a big Japanese food fan. This is the first restaurant I ever tried a piece of sushi at (was called Restaurant Japan at the time) and although I’ve moved to many different cities/states over the years, tasted some of the best fish in NYC and traveled multiple times to Japan I can say that Akai Hana can compete with the best of them, especially for the price. Lovely Columbus staple that I eat at every time I visit. I hope it never dies. KANPAI!

This place always makes new happy. Amazing food with so many options and great service at a fair price. Plus they have quality beer and sake. And if it's too busy you can stop by their grocery store or market.

this is my favourite restaurant of all time. I come here for my birthday every year and the food is great. the servers are very attentive and friendly. the food is great and very traditional. even though i’m vegetarian, there are still a lot of food options for me

Cant believe the quality for sushi in a landlocked (from the ocean, at least) state. I live in CA and loved every bite of the sashimi I ordered.

Best Sushi is Columbus for the past 30 years! It is really the warm rice and the fresh fish that keep my coming back. The ramen is also quite good.

If you have ever been to Japan and miss their cuisine this is the place to go. If you've ever been curious about an authentic Japanese meal, this is the place. Everything from their fried chicken(a late night favorite when I lived in Japan) to their most extravagant roll is perfection. Their Sushi is amazing. I have never been disappointed at this place. The service is wonderful, always efficient, friendly, and courteous. My wife and I absolutely love this place, it is worth every penny spent there. My 14 y.o. loves it. My 9 y.o. loves it. Even my 6 y.o. loves it.

I dont care for actual sushi, but my boyfriend does, and he loves it here. I enjoy the vegetarian Harvest roll and the dumplings appetizer. This is the only place we go for sushi anymore.

Unbelievably wonderful. My friends had wonderful sushi and sashimi. I had bulgogi and my husband had an amazing seafood soup.

Food was delicious! Polite staff and wonderful waiter, my nana has pretty high expectations when it comes service and I heard no complaints! ^^Had to wait a while to be seated, but it was pretty busy...Furniture was comfortable in comparison to alot of other places.Design wasn't very complicated or over artistic but is still nice on the eyes and gives off a a certain calmness that is hard to explain. Let's just say, the atmosphere was nice, I had a good time.I'll be recommending this to my friends! ^^

We got sushi here. They said the sushis will be discounted for ppl who order befor 6pm but ours werent discounted :-(

So impressed. The tools were huge! And delicious! We also had the spicy said and vegetables and is was marvelous. My kid literally at Green tea ice cream until he puked .

High quality sushi, but long wait time. Only go if you have budgeted enough time to be able to enjoy your meal properly. ~90 minutes should do.

This was an adventurous restaurant visit. We decided to try new things and we were really glad we did. They have an extensive menu with options for anyone! We went outside the box and tried a few things we had never tried before. We got a sushi platter and it had some very interesting and unique options all of which were fantastic. We also got rice bowl that cooks at the table in a stone bowl and wow that was amazing! I think anyone can enjoy the food here with the many options they offer.

I've been to Akai Hana several times over the years and have always been impressed with the excellent food, atmosphere, and service. They really serve some of the best and most authentic sushi in Columbus. While on the pricier side, you undoubtedly get what you pay for.Service is always excellent and the decor of the restaurant is classy and understated. Eating here is always a treat.

Best Japanese food that I have has outside of Japan. The daily bento box special had salmon, fried oyster, fried squid, crab rolls and other delicious items. The service was excellent and the decor and aesthetic pure Japanese. Highly recommend.
